Head of Dispute Resolution / Casework Investigations

An exciting opportunity to use your knowledge of housing law, proven management skills and casework investigations expertise to lead our dispute resolution teams and ensure that we deliver high quality and timely investigations that maximise our impact on residents’ lives and landlords’ services.

The Housing Ombudsman Service provides independent, impartial and fair dispute resolution services for nearly 5 million households in England. Through resolving disputes effectively and promoting positive change across the social housing sector, we improve residents’ lives and landlords’ services.

Working in partnership with our other Head of Dispute Resolution (who focuses on casework development and specialisms), you will lead the Dispute Resolution teams to deliver fair and impartial investigations in line with the Scheme and the Complaint Handling Code and which promote learning from outcomes. A key focus will be developing and continuously improving systems and processes to deliver high performance.

For this key role, you will be a confident manager with senior experience gained within the housing sector; an ombudsman service; a regulator or a housing or public law legal practice. You will possess relevant housing law, practice, and policy knowledge, as well as the proven ability to motivate casework investigations teams to deliver to demanding performance targets which will include a track record of delivering process and systems improvements.
