Sector Learning and Development Manager

The new Centre for Learning will drive positive complaint handling across the sector through a LMS and Web offering, as well as face-to-face learning delivery, tailored for the member organisations. All elements of the customer/tenant service and complaints process will be reviewed, in order to drive continuous learning and improvement, and operational excellence.

As part of the Communications team, and reporting in to the Director of Quality, Engagement and Development, the Sector Learning & Development Manager will;

  • Manage the successful delivery of the Ombudsman’s Centre for Learning and self serve offer to landlords and residents
    Lead the implementation of a learning management system and design the new processes and activities to support its adoption
  • Ensure an accessible and beneficial learning experience for those accessing the Centre for Learning through programme design that aligns with sector needs, relevant guidance and the Ombudsman’s values
  • Collaborate and manage the partnership with key stakeholders and expert delivery partners
  • Ensure the development of quality learning materials and an effective quality assurance process
  • Measure stakeholder satisfaction and use feedback to continuously improve the Centre for Learning content and design, developing new programmes, features and services that meet market needs
  • Host and deliver learning programmes online and in person as appropriate
  • Collaborate with colleagues in communication, membership, insight and development to support the recruitment and onboarding of participants
  • Manage insight from members to identify new opportunities to grow our internal professional learning offer
  • Managing the work of the Sector Learning team and supporting their professional development
  • Research best practice in complaints handling, developing options for enhancing our learning activities for stakeholders and internal processes
  • Actively participate, develop and deliver relevant internal learning to colleagues
  • Represent the Ombudsman with confidence at external events – building the reputation of the Service

The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Learning & development professional from within a Public Sector or Not-For-Profit environment, ideally with experience of delivering learning to external partners/providing external training

You will ideally have demonstrable experience in;

  • Implementation of Learning Management Systems
  • Experienced at monitoring impact and evaluation success, setting and hitting ambitious targets
  • Overseeing successful services and project delivery
  • Proactively building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to support the identification, development and delivery of effective development activities
  • Taking broad policies/sector-wide insight and shaping this into targeted learning to drive performance improvement
  • Writing and recording content for a variety of platforms e.g. video, interactive learning modules

What’s on Offer
A salary of circa £56,000 plus benefits. The role is offered on a remote basis, but you must be able to travel adhoc to the Manchester and/or London offices when required.
