Job Description

  • Support the IT Projects Manager in administration of project groups and effective project management including collating and producing reports and updating project workbooks.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining programme and project management information including frameworks, and tools.
  • Maintaining central IT project records including risk registers, lessons learnt and RAID logs keeping the IT project manager informed and aware of project status.
  • Contributing to the development of the IT programme and project documentation including Project Briefs and Business Cases
  • Assist in working collaboratively with the organisation’s third-party IT suppliers to deliver IT projects and other IT initiatives to time and budget
  • Support in analysing and assessing project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies in consultation with the business owner
  • Draft project progress reports using the HOS template for review by the IT Projects manager.
  • Assist in the production of post project evaluation reports in conjunction with business leads
  • Maintain active personal development staying up to date with project management best practice, industry trends, and HoS policy.
  • Agree annual objectives with the line manager and complete all appraisal tasks in line with HoS policy.
  • To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the IT Projects Manager.

The Successful Applicant

Essential

  • IT qualification demonstrating knowledge of digital and data. or experience of working in project management.
  • Experience in monitoring delivery of IT projects.
  • Intermediate level user experience of Microsoft office and project management packages.
  • Knowledge of IT project delivery methodologies.
  • Good communications skills and is able to interact at all levels.
  • Organised with ability to prioritise conflicting demands and plan work effectively to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Collaboration, partnership, and team working.
  • Applied thinking, decision making and problem solving.

Desirable

  • PRINCE II or other project management qualification
  • Evidence of building collaborative relations with third party IT external suppliers
  • Experience of delivering Government Digital projects either in-house or through third party supplier
