Job Description
- Effectively managing all IT suppliers and partners, improving relationships and ensuring all parties work to agreed standards and SLAs through regular service reviews.
- Lead the formation, implementation and management of IT related policies, processes and procedures.
- Ensure that the HOS IT environment meets security thresholds and gains required certification for cyber-security and data compliance.
- Identifying, investigating, and recommending new and updated cloud, hardware, and software options with a view to improved service delivery and cost effectiveness.
- Working closely with Project Management colleagues and suppliers on IT developments to ensure appropriate implementation of projects that are in compliance with the HOS IT environment.
- Ensure HOS information is properly maintained in our SharePoint environment, and sites developed appropriates, in line with Data Protection/Information Governance policies.
- Lead the IT asset management service and manage software licenses on a organisation-wide basis.
- Troubleshoot an array of IT issues, working with the DPO or IT partner Service
- Desk as necessary, acting promptly to reassess workloads and priorities when there are conflicting demands to maintain IT performance.
- Provide line management to the IT Support Officer. Coach, inspire, motivate and seek development opportunities for self and for staff.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate requirements associated with the role, including functional standards.
- To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Data Protection Manager.
The Successful Applicant
- At least level 3 IT/Computing qualification (ICT/Computing/Software engineering) demonstrating advanced knowledge of digital and data.
- Minimum of five years’ experience of working in IT.
- Solid understanding of the IT best practices, processes and procedures.
- Experience of Microsoft Azure and associated software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced level SharePoint skills and evidence of operational application.
- Experience of planning and leading the development of an organisation’s IT infrastructure to ensure appropriate capacity and cyber security.
- Experience of line managing.
- Experience of being part of IT project delivery teams.
- Sound information management experience and data protection understanding.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Ability to communicate with users at all levels of the organisation, including staff and senior leadership
- Ability to engage collaboratively with a variety of users with good team working
- Willingness to learn in the role and undertake further qualifications as required
- Organised with ability to prioritise conflicting demands and plan work effectively to meet challenging deadlines
