People Officer

If you offer HR administration experience, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, as well as a ‘can-do’ approach, this exciting and varied role offers a great opportunity to further develop your HR skills.

The Housing Ombudsman Service provides independent, impartial and fair dispute resolution services for nearly 5 million households in England. Through resolving disputes effectively and promoting positive change across the social housing sector, we improve residents’ lives and landlords’ services.

As our People Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring continued provision of a comprehensive administration service for the People Team helping to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to the business. You will take ownership for ensuring all administration within the People Team is processed effectively, and details processed accurately. Effective and timely processing of employment life cycle procedures will include involvement with and support on onboarding new starters, lifecycle changes, learning and development administration, employee relations as well as other HR functions.

For this key role, you will offer HR experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally gained within a public or not-for-profit organisation, with proven knowledge of HR compliance processes. You’ll require excellent administration skills; the ability to prioritise; attention to detail; and excellent customer service skills.
